Asahi Beverages Philippines connected packaging delivers instant wins | 06-02-2024 |
As AIPIA finishes a series of lectures on Smart Packaging technologies at ProPak Philippines in Manila a very topical story has come on stream. A cultured milk drink owned by Asahi Beverages Philippines and distributed by Universal Robina Corporation in the country, has partnered with creative technology studio Appetite Creative to build a fun and interactive connected packaging experience.
Andrew Manly, communications director at AIPIA, who has been attending the ProPak show, commented, “It is good to see a live application of Smart Packaging technology to coincide with this event. Technology providers often think countries like the Philippines are not quite ready for their products. But full presentation rooms at every lecture l gave proves just how much interest there is in Smart Packaging here. The industry just needs to come here and address the particular market needs in a cost effective way. AIPIA is blazing the trail and we hope to bring members along with us soon.”
The smart packaging campaign for Goodday drinks offers registered users instant prizes via the web app based connected experience accessed via unique QR codes. For every major draw, there will be one winner (out of a total of three) of an all-expense paid trip to Japan for four inclusive round trip flights, accommodation for four days and three nights, one-day tour package and spending money. Other prizes include P10,000 worth of GCash Credits, P1,000 worth of GCash Credits, Nintendo Switch Lite and 50 winners of Goodday gift packs.
“This campaign is designed to reward our customers with some amazing prizes. Goodday is always looking at creative and fun ways to engage and reward our consumers and this partnership with Appetite enabled us to do just that,” said Hemalatha Ragavan, CEO at Asahi Beverages Philippines.
“Connected packaging offers brands fun ways to interact directly with customers. From instant rewards and competitions to education and inspiration the opportunities are truly unlimited. It’s great to see the Goodday brand tap into this versatile media channel,” said Jenny Stanley, managing director at Appetite Creative.
