Department of Management Systems and Organizational Development (K48W08D12) - established by order of His Majesty the Rector of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (ZW 112/2019) of December 10, 2019 - started operations on January 1, 2020.
The Department was established as a result of the merger of the Department of Management Systems and the Department of Management and Organization Development, thus becoming a historical continuator of the activities of the Department of Management and Marketing Systems operating within the Institute of Organization and Management since September 1, 1972, and the Department of Management Systems operating since December 1, 2014 , as well as the successor of the scientific, didactic and organizational achievements achieved by all Employees of these units under the supervision of their subsequent Managers, i.e.:

The mission of the Department of Management Systems and Organizational Development is to create optimal conditions for conducting scientific and research work, as well as development and implementation work, as well as educating students, research and teaching staff in the field of theory and practice of organization and management.
The leading scientific discipline in which scientific and research work is carried out by the employees of the Department of Management Systems and Organizational Development is the discipline of Management and Quality Science, but thanks to the diverse interests of the Department's employees, it is possible to undertake interdisciplinary research.
The scientific and research activities of the Department's employees focus on the issues of designing modern management systems. Currently, research is being conducted in 4 research teams:

Economic and Strategic Analyzes, Organizational Development and Management Team
Management Concept Team
Scientific and research activities include own research carried out as part of activities financed by the Wrocław University of Science and Technology and commissioned under grants from the National Science Center and NCBiR, projects financed by the European Union and work commissioned by enterprises and state and local government institutions. The Department's scientific teams are very active in organizing scientific life through scientific conferences, promotion of many masters, doctors and professors, significant publication achievements and establishing lasting relationships with scientific and business units. Particularly noteworthy is a series of international conferences organized by the Department's employees, entitled: " Knowledge in the economy and the knowledge-based economy " and " New trends in the science of organization and management ", highly valued in the scientific and business community.
The teaching activity of the Department is carried out mainly in three fields of study conducted at the Faculty of Computer Science and Management: Management, Management Engineering and Systems Engineering, at the first and second level of studies.
Moreover, in terms of teaching activities, the Department's employees also conduct classes for students from other Faculties of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, in particular from the Faculties of Architecture, Chemistry, Energy and Mechanics and Mathematics, successfully providing engineers with the managerial knowledge they need.
The Department's employees are very active in improving educational programs . In the field of Management, Department employees participated in the development and implementation of the second-cycle studies in the following specializations: Enterprise Process Management and National Labor Inspectorate. The Department's employees played a leading role in developing the educational program for the innovative field of study: Management Engineering - 1st degree, which was launched in October 2016.
