StixFresh
Slowing down nature is speeding up progress.
Solutions to global challenges often start at the local level. Something as simple as helping out a buddy could eventually have a global impact. That’s how StixFresh was born.
Growing up in a rural community an hour south of Kuala Lumpur, Zhafri Zainudin developed a passion for finding solutions to problems faced by his friends and neighbors. One such friend, an owner of a stand selling tropical fruit, lamented the amount of product that would spoil before he could sell it.
It got Zhafri thinking: Maybe I can’t stop nature, but could I slow it down? After much research and experimentation, he found a solution that worked – applying a beneficial all-natural substance to a sticker. This substance would eventually prove to extend the life of fruits by up to two weeks. Also, as fruit stickers were already being widely used, his solution didn’t add an extra step or require a large investment to implement. He simply improved what currently existed. All that was left now was to share his idea with the world.
Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the earth, Moody Soliman and Steve Hulteng were looking to apply their technical know-how, product development expertise and ability to commercialize disruptive technologies with the potential for major world impact.
Through a serendipitous encounter at an industry conference in Dubai, the trio connected and discussed the great promise of StixFresh. With a shared vision to positively affect people’s lives and solve global challenges, this would be the beginning of a great partnership.
Today, Moody and Steve are working with Zhafri to bring this food-saving innovation from his local community to businesses and households everywhere.
Together, we're putting an end to the waste.
