New partnership for smart, compliant Cold Chain logistics for high value items | 23-04-2025 |

What the partners describe as a groundbreaking development sees ThermoCarrier, specialists in high-performance passive cooling transport boxes, and an exciting new AIPIA member, Cold Chain Control, pioneer smart temperature monitoring for individual high-value items. Together, the companies say they are setting a new benchmark for precision, compliance and sustainability in cold chain logistics.
“This collaboration is a textbook example of how active and intelligent packaging technologies are converging to solve real-world challenges,” said Andrew Manly communications director of AIPIA. “We seem ore and more examples of successful collaboration between members offering complimentary technologies and are delighted to showcase this one.”
Cold Chain Control provides enterprise-grade IoT sensors and cloud software for real-time, item-level temperature monitoring to ensure compliance, reduce waste, and protect product integrity in biopharma, food, and logistics, it says. ThermoCarrier’s passive transport boxes, with high insulation properties, are designed to meet strict temperature requirements in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and food sectors.
The pairing of ThermoCarrier’s reusable transport systems with the Cold Chain Control intelligent item-level tracking, brings a new level of visibility, safety, and efficiency to cold chain logistics, according to the companies.
Cold Chain Control’s powerful IoT sensors are now being integrated into ThermoCarrier’s transport toolboxes to provide real-time data logging, automated compliance checks and end-to-end traceability. This is a major step forward for industries where temperature-sensitive, high-value products like vaccines, biologics, and specialty foods must be protected at an individual level, they believe.
“Customers need more than just a cold box—they need proof of compliance for every single item they ship,” said John Beerens, CEO of Cold Chain Control. “Our technology captures and communicates that data with minimal effort. Partnering with ThermoCarrier means our clients get both smart tracking and robust transport in one seamless solution.”
“With growing regulatory pressure and rising customer expectations, this is exactly what the market is asking for,” added Johan Lagers, co-founder of ThermoCarrier. “We’re proud to work with Cold Chain Control to deliver this unique offering.”
The combined technologies are already being rolled out in pilot programs across Europe and the companies will jointly promote the integrated solution at upcoming industry events.
